Help with tiered fountains from other manufacturers
Several people have contacted us this year with regard to tiered fountains bought from other manufacturers so we thought it was worth writing a brief help page on the issue.
It seems that some manufacturers are selling tiered fountains designed for ponds as self contained fountains. The problem seems to be that they run dry within a few hours. Tiered fountains for ponds are designed to make the water flow over the bowls rather than retain the water in the bottom bowl for recirculation. The result is that they run dry as the main bowl is not deep enough to retain sufficient water. This leads to the pump failing as the water empties.
Please be aware of this when looking at fountain designs.
All kinsman tiered fountains are designed to be self contained from the start so do not suffer from this problem. If you have purchased a pond fountain to be used as a self contained one and it empties itself you may be able to turn the pump down to restrict the flow but this may give a very poor display. As an alternative we do supply single sections of all our designs so if you want to substitute one of our deeper bowls for your existing bowl then please contact us and we will do our best to help.
